In Iran, Fawad faced discrimination and prejudice as a refugee. She was often treated as an outsider, and she struggled to fit in. Despite these challenges, Fawad refused to give up hope. She worked hard in school and excelled in her studies.
In 1991, Fawad and her family were finally able to return to Iraq. But the country they returned to was not the same one they had left. The war had devastated Iraq, and the country was in ruins.
Fawad was determined to make a difference in her country. She became a nurse and worked tirelessly to help those who had been affected by the war. She also became an advocate for peace and reconciliation.
In 2003, the United States invaded Iraq. Fawad's life was once again turned upside down. She was forced to flee her home again, this time to Jordan. In Jordan, Fawad continued to work as a nurse and advocate for peace.
In 2008, Fawad was awarded the International Woman of Courage Award by the U.S. Department of State. The award recognizes women who have demonstrated exceptional courage and leadership in advocating for peace, justice, and human rights.
Fawad's story is one of hope, courage, and compassion. It is a story that will inspire you to never give up on your dreams, no matter how difficult the challenges you face.
